Protect Yourself From Injury During the Holiday Season | Personal Injury Firm

The holidays bring so much joy, fun and of course travel! During all the hustle and bustle, accidents and injury are bound to happen. Whether it is during shopping, driving or outdoor fun you never know when an accident may occur. No one wants their holidays to be ruined by injury.  Here are a few tips that can help you protect yourself from injury during the holidays.

PREPARE FOR HOLIDAY ACTIVITIES: Sledding, skiing and other outdoor fun are often a part of the holiday season. Being prepared with the proper safety gear, receiving proper instruction and choosing a safe location are all imperative to your safety.

DRIVE DURING WAKING HOURS: Tired drivers are dangerous drivers. Even though it can be tempting to leave in the middle of the night and drive straight through to your destination to avoid traffic, it may not be the best decision. You need to be alert and focused when you are driving. Be sure you are well rested before you hit the road.

BE CAREFUL WITH YOUR DECORATIONS: Outdoor decorations, holiday light and Christmas trees are often part of the holiday festivities, but be safe with them. When using ladders, be sure it is sturdy and have a spotter. Be sure your tree is stable so that is doesn't fall over and keep it watered to prevent fires. Make sure any decorations inside or outside the home are not obstructing walkways. They should also be very secure as not to easy fall or shift, which could lead to injury.

Everyone at the Foster Firm wishes you a happy and SAFE holiday season. If you or a loved one is injured this holiday season, we can help. We are experienced personal injury attorneys who care. Have great holiday!

Preventing Accidents During Halloween | College Park Accident Attorney

Halloween is such a fun time of year, but it can also be dangerous. Kids all dressed up, running around at night and hyper off of sugar can sometimes be a recipe for injury. Here are a few tips to help prevent an accident during Halloween:

1. Keep your home well lit all night. Make sure that trick or treaters can easily see their way to your door.  Visibility greatly reduces the risk of injury.

2. Make sure you walk way is clear. Remove any décor, furniture, plants, etc. that may impede a person’s path. The last thing you want is for someone to trip and injure themselves on your property.

3. Dress your kids in bright colors and put a reflector somewhere on their costume. You want to make sure a car can see them from a great distance away.

Everyone at the Foster Firm wishes you a HAPPY HALLOWEEN! Enjoy and be safe.  If someone you love is injured this Halloween, contact us to discuss your injury and protect your rights.

The Foster Firm Client Reviews | Attorney Keith Foster Reviews

Protecting our clients’ rights is paramount to our practice.  We take a personal approach and get to know the people we are representing. We truly care about our clients and work as hard as we can on their behalf. Here are a few client testimonials and reviews we would like to share with you…
“The Foster Firm did what another firm could not do. I am very grateful that the Foster Firm was able to take my case that a previous lawyer neglected and not only cleaned up the mess that was made, they also turned it around giving me sound advice, great service and an even better settlement.”
~ Jasmine M.

I retained Attorney Keith Foster for my auto accident in 2008, because of his hard work and dedication the claim settled for the policy limit of $100,000. Years later I was involved in another auto accident and I called an Attorney I could trust, an Attorney who would do his best for the best settlement, an Attorney who stands by his client %100. I called Attorney Keith Foster again and again he settled the claim for the policy limit of $100,000."
~ Saundra L.

“A pleasure to do business with. Reliable, determined and persistent on getting what is rightfully owed on your behalf. They thrive on not just being the best for themselves, but for you.”
~ Melvin

Why Having A Car Accident Attorney Is So Important | Car Wreck Attorney College Park

Unfortunately car accidents are a common occurrence, especially in Metro Atlanta.  Many people may think it’s not necessary to retain an attorney after a car accident, but in many cases it is.  It doesn’t make  you an opportunist or greedy to hire a lawyer, it makes you smart. Protecting your rights and financial stability is extremely important.

Here’s just a few reasons why having a car accident attorney is so important…

Many injuries manifest well after a car accident.  An experienced attorney will be sure that you receive the right type of medical treatment and follow up. This will help to ensure that you will be compensated fully for all of your injuries.

Uninsured drivers are all around us.  Collecting money for repairs and/or injuries from an individual rather than an insurance company can be a difficult task. A skilled lawyer knows how to vigorously collect what you are due.

Determining fault in an automobile accident is not always black and white.  Fault may lie on both sides but not evenly, obscure traffic laws may apply and evidence at the scene needs immediate preservation, which are all reasons why you need a good attorney to help you find the justice and compensation you deserve.

If you were in a car accident in the Metro Atlanta or College Park area, contact us. We have the passion, commitment and experience to protect your rights and collect the monetary damages owed to you.

3 Things To Do If You Are the Victim of a Slip & Fall | Slip & Fall Attorney College Park

Even minor slips or falls can sometimes lead to major injuries and traumas.  If your slip and fall accident is caused by another’s negligence or intentional action, you have to protect yourself physically and financially. Can you afford to miss days or weeks of work? Can you handle a large medical bill? These are just a couple of the things you have to ask yourself if you are injured. Here are 3 things we recommend you do if you have a slip and fall accident:

1. Get medical attention. Sometimes injuries are not obvious or immediate. It is critical to be thoroughly examined by qualified physician right away.

2. Contact an experienced slip & fall attorney.  If the accident was not your fault, then all your medical bills, pain and suffering, loss of work, etc. need to be covered by the responsible party.

3. Write down the details of what happened as soon as possible. Memories are always reliable. If possible, take notes (and photos) of the scene, get names and numbers of witnesses and detail exactly what happened.

3 Tips for Preventing Injuries at Work | Workers Comp Attorney College Park

For most of us, working for a living is an essential part of life. Day in and day out we perform our jobs to best of our abilities, but usually do not put a heavy focus on safety. We have routines and just normally stick to them, for better or worse.  But many individuals are injured every day at work doing just that. Preventing injury is much better than dealing with it after the fact.  Here are 3 tips that may help you prevent a workplace injury:

1. Put your company’s safety procedures and guidelines to memory.  Even though it may be time consuming, it can truly save you from injuring yourself.  Most companies have put significant time, thought and research into their safety guidelines so take advantage of them.

2. Staying limber and fit can cut down your risk of injury.  Sprains, strains and other injuries can often be minimized or prevented if your body is healthy and in good shape.

3. Talk to your physician about your line of work and ask for suggestions on how to minimize your risks of injury.

If you are injured at work, it is imperative that you protect your rights. Select an experienced workers comp attorney to ensure that you receive all the compensation and benefits you are entitled to. If you are in the College Park or Atlanta areas and need a workers comp lawyer, contact The Foster Firm. We offer complimentary consultations and work hard on your behalf to make sure you get what you are owed.

3 Factors To Consider In Proving Liability | College Park Personal Injury Attorney

When you are injured do to the fault of another it can be devastating to all aspects of your life.  Of course it’s natural to think the party at fault is automatically legally liable, but that is not the case. Liability has to be proven. Here are 3 factors to consider in proving liability:

1. The person who caused the injury or accident must be shown to have a "duty" to be careful toward the injured party. If they had no “duty” to be careful, you may not be able to prove liability.

2. You may have also been negligent or careless and contributed to your own injury. Still, in most states you can still get some compensation from another party(ies) who may have also been careless and  contributed to your injuries.

3. If an accident is caused on property that is poorly maintained or improperly built, the owner of the property is liable. It is the owners responsibility to maintain their property in a safe and responsible manner.

These are just a few of the many factors that must be evaluated when proving liability in a personal injury case.  This is why having a knowledgeable and experienced personal injury attorney is crucial to winning your case and being compensated for you pain and losses.  The Foster Firm are expert Atlanta and College Park personal injury lawyers who work tirelessly to protect your rights.
